This is a Bulgarian translation of an Italian book L’arte di essere felici (1886) by an Italian anthropologist and a controversial author Paolo Mantegazza (1831-1910). Mantegazza, a professor and an early supporter of the Darwinism also believed in the supremacy of the Arial race and in the positive effects of a daily use of coca leaves.
Spiro Gulabchev settled in Russe in 1890, where he opened his publishing company. In the next years he published circa 140 original works and translations, mostly connected with socialism and early communism.
In 1891 Gulabchev published the first Bulgarian translation of The Communist Manifesto.
