Lajos Tárkony (or Ludoviko Totsche) was a Hungarian author, poet and critic, who was publishing in Esperanto language. In his book De paĝo al paĝo Tárkony offered a critical view on the literary work of contemporary Esperanto authors Julio Baghy, Károly Bodó, Hilda Dresen, Stellan Engholm, Jean Forge, Nikolao Hohlov, Kálmán Kalocsay, Kenelm Robinson, Raymond Schwartz, K. R. C. Sturmer and Ferenc Szilagyi.
The book was published by an Esperanto publishing house Literatura mondo, based in Budapest, who was since 1922 publishing an Esperanto magazine with the same title. During WWII the magazine and the publishing house were closed, because the Nazis forbade publications in Esperanto. The first magazine after the war was published in 1947.
A cover of the book was designed in a contemporary fashion of photo collage.
We could only trace seven examples in libraries worldwide.
