Description
The translation with brief history, symptoms, prevention and treatment of plague was published in Kazan in 1911, possibly as a reaction on the Manchurian plague of 1910-1911, which killed about 60.000 people. It was the first such event, which caused international reaction. Already in April 1911 an International Plague Conference in Mukden was called and international team of scientists discussed disease control, mostly suggesting wearing masks and promoting quarantine. Several publications, such as ours, were published in various languages across the world to inform people about the disease.
