A rare pamphlet in Pashto language, printed in Lahore, Pakistan, describes the life of a Muslim saint Tamim Al Ansari.

 

Small 4°, 16 pp. lithographed text with decorated title page, contemporary tan paper wrappers (slightly age-toned and stained, with small tears and chips without loss of text in margins, old annotation on the top margin of the title page, otherwise in a good, partly uncut condition with original blank wrappers).

Description

Tamim Al-Ansari (Tameem ul-Ansari) is a Muslim saint and Sahabi (companion of the Prophet Muhammad). Born in Medina, he visited Asia and lived in Sindh, in today’s Pakistan, for 18 years, making him a beloved religious figure in the region. Today his tomb is situated in Kovalam, Tamil Nadu, in south-eastern India with many legends rotating about the posthumous travel of his body.

This rare pamphlet in Pashtu language was printed in Lahore, Pakistan, by a Nazeri Press in 1864.
