Description
Karl-Iwanowitsch von Mekold, who advertised himself as a professor from Saint Petersburg, performed with his wife, also described as a Russian, who was wearing a military outfit, representing the goddess Minerva. The highlight of their show was von Mekold shooting at his wife, who survived the performance unharmed.
Their show, which sometimes included their son, travelled around Germany in the late 1820s and early 1830s.
