Description
In the early 20th century Turkey was probably the biggest producer of aromatic Oriental tobacco in the world. This manual on the cultivation of plants as well of making of cigarettes was issued in the first years of the Republic of Turkey as a part of a national program to modernize local agriculture, which started in the early 20th century in the Ottoman Empire with decentralization of the country by founding provincial agricultural schools and educating farmers in modern techniques.
