Description
This is the first edition of an autobiographic short novel by the Slovenian author Jože Kranjc (1904-1966), who was known for his social motifs and theatre plays. The story is set in two days in the streets of Ljubljana, where the author describes a daily routine of the hard working people with few labor rights and at the end looks for the solution for the protest of the workers.
The covers with a photocollage were designed by Bratko Kreft (1905-1996), a Slovenian professor, director, historian of literature and author, writing in the style of social realism. He cooperated with the avant-garde magazine Tank and was the editor of the first Slovenian Marxist magazine Književnost (Literature).
For the cover Bratko used photographs from the streets of Ljubljana.
