  An official secretarial transcription of a letter by the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II to the Austrian ambassador in Spain, Hans von Khevenhüller-Frankenburg, regarding negotiations with Belgium, was written at the beginning of Dutch War of Independence (1568–1648).

  A rare, unmounted fan leaf showcasing the Mutiny of Aranjuez and capture of Prime Minister of Spain Manuel Godoy, was made in London expressly to be exported to Spain. 

  An extremely rare early Bloemfontein imprint featuring seminal primary sources concerning the end of the Orange Free State-Basotho Wars which secured the Anglo-Afrikaner balance of power in the region, as well as the security of what would become Lesotho, commissioned by the Volksraad of the Orange Free State as a work of ‘intellectual propaganda’ advancing its national claims. 

  A rare Italian translation of Arthur Ransome’s pro-Soviet book was issued by the Italian socialist publishing house Avanti!, whose headquarters were burned down by the Mussolini's Blackshirts a year before. It was banned by the Fascist government in 1926.

  A scarce first-hand account on the Civil War along the route of the Trans-Siberian Railway was written in New York by lieutenant general Saharov, a White Russian émigré, in 1920, and was published by a Commander of the Russian Imperial Navy, Harald Graf in Munich, Germany.

  This is the 7th number of a rare early Croatian left-wing magazine with avant-garde poetry, which was banned in the same year after the number 15 for political reasons.

  A first edition of a novel by France Bevk was published under difficult circumstances by one of the last Slavic publishing houses persisting on the Italian Fascist territories. The text inside is Slovenian, but the main title had to be translated to Italian and the author's name has been Italianised. 

  A stunning set of 17 unused colourful flyers by Yugoslav Partisans with text in Slovenian and Italian language, printed over a flag of Yugoslavia and Italian minority in Istria, was made immediately after WWII for annexation of Trieste to Yugoslavia at a referendum.

A beautifully designed book with a lyrical story in six acts in Croatian language, was drafted by an architect, composer and a later director of the Zagreb Philharmonic Hall Ivo Tijardović.

An anonymous, probably spying report on the Ottoman fleet was sent to France on August 8, 1793, through a French diplomat Marie Louis Descorches, in the time of the French Revolution, when the old Franco-Ottoman alliance was establishing new relations.

  An unusual archive in Hungarian language includes dozens of photographs and original typewritten police reports on true crime scenes from Budapest, made between 1947 and 1949, most of them related to murders.  

  An extremely rare, seemingly unrecorded pamphlet with private home addresses of the nobleman, foreign diplomats and members of the Prussian court, was printed around 1800, probably for heads of protocol. The first name of the list it the one of the first US minister to Berlin John Quincy Adams.

  A rare, seemingly unrecorded lithographed broadside, made in Freiburg, Germany, showcases the biggest German rail disaster of the late 19th century.

  Extremely rare – no other examples recorded – the first edition of Reverend Buckley Wood’s history of Lagos, one of the seminal sources on the city’s precolonial period, printed in Exeter in 1878.

A rare first edition of White émigré Aleksey Tolstoy’s work The Road to Calvary was written in the time of staying in Paris after the October Revolution, and was published in 1922, after he moved to Berlin. Two year later he became one of rare White Russian writers, who returned to the Soviet Union and built a new career there.   

  A photo with an autograph of Zlatko Baloković, a famous Croatian violinist, visible figure among the Yugoslavian immigrants to the United States, and a personal friend of Nikola Tesla, who played Ave Maria and a Serbian song Tamo daleko, when New York City mayor Fiorello La Guardia read Tesla’s eulogy on the radio. 

  A first edition of Mayakovsky’s futuristic poem hailing the 150-million-strong Russians to start the world revolution was published anonymously in 1921. 

  Two privately issued ephemeral pocket books in Croatian language from 1930s include erotic stories in verses accompanied by lewd images, reproduced in the technique of whiteprint.
