Description

This is a rare primer for Turkish children from the Greek island Rhodes. The text is accompanied by crude illustrations, some printed in colours.

The Ottoman Empire lost the island to Italy in 1923 with the Treaty of Lausanne, although the Turkish minority remained on Rhodes after the date. Today still about 4000 Turks occupy the island.
