This rare broadside, explaining the current situation in Abissyinia, was published in Warsaw in mid 1930s as a part of pre WW II campain, warining agains the agressors.

The advertisment in the bottom asks people to join L. O. P. P. (Liga Obrony Powietrznej i Przeciwgazowej, or Air and Chemical Defense League, a mass Polish paramilitary organization, founded in 1928. In the summer of 1939, L.O.P.P organized mass anti-German demonstrations in several Polish cities and towns.

Italians in Abyssinia

The Italian occupation of Abyssinia started after the colonial war between October 1935 and May 1936, resulting in Italian occupation of the country.

Italy and Ethiopia were at the time both member nations and yet the League was unable to control Italy or to protect Ethiopia, when Italy violated Article X of the Covenant of the League of Nations in 1935. During the attack Italy used sulfur mustard in chemical warfare. In the same year Selasie appealed to the League of Nations, delivering an address that made him a worldwide figure.

Haile Selassie returned to Ethiopia from England to help rally the resistance and in 1941 the British began the invasion of Abyssinia with the help of Ethiopian freedom fighters. The Italian resistance surrendered in November 1941.
