The paper factory located on the Göltsch River in the town of Greiz, Thuringia, Germany, was established in 1591, when Hans Rot received a privilege to manufacture paper in the settlement. Over the centuries, the successful company changed hands among several families. After significant expansion and renovation during the 1920s and 1930s, it faced challenges under the regime of East Germany and continued to struggle after the reunification of Germany. Today, it is part of the August Koehler SE paper factory.
