A mid-Century map shows French Equatorial Africa and embraces today’s countries Chad, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, and Gabon.

Léo Craste (1887-1970) was a French painter, illustrator and a member of La Société Coloniale des Artistes Français (Colonial Society of French Artists), renamed Société des Beaux-Arts de la France d’Outre-mer in 1946.
