Small view of Metz from ‘Nuova raccolta di le piu illustri et famose citta di tutto mondo’ by Francesco Valegio and Martino Rota.The work was printed right after Braun and Hogenberg’s ‘Civitates orbis terrarum’ and based several views upon it. The number of plates varies with each volume. Most of the engravings were signed by Valegio, because of this, his name is usually associated with the work. Some engravings are signed by the Croatian engraved Martino Rota and many remain anonymous.
