Description
The writer Ahmad Hamrush was a prominent Egyptian journalist and author of texts on the politics, theatre, fiction and travel.
Ahmad Hamrush was also a military officer, trained at the military college, where he later worked as a lecturer. In the Egyptian Revolution of 1952 he was one of the main figures, responsible for the organization of the Free Officers, who overthrew king Fuad. In 1955, Hamrush retired from the armed forces and started working as a writer and journalist. In 1956, he was appointed the director if the National Theatre and in 1961 the director of the Theater and Music Foundation.
