  An uncommon first edition of poems, originally written in Esperanto by a Hungarian author Káláman Kalocsay (1891-1976) was published in Budapest in 1931 and is considered one of the finest collections of original Esperanto poetry.

  Very Rare – the first broadly accurate British sea chart of the southwestern coast of Sumatra, a critical region home to the important British base of Benccoolon-Fort Marlborough (modern Bengkulu), published by William Herbert in 1758.

  The first edition of the first map of the island of São Tomé to be predicated upon systematic triangulated surveys, by Gago Coutinho, who subsequently became a world famous aviator, published in Lisbon in 1922. 

  This folding map of Tyrol was the first reduced edition of a wall map from 1823, based on the new surveys of the early 19th century. 

  The only known surviving examples of a pair of fine nautical works by Captain Edward Smith, R.N., being a large-format sea chart of the Levant, accompanied by a sheet of nautical views of the same coast, based on Smith’s reconnaissance of the coast aboard the yacht ‘Menai’ in the spring of 1840.

  An illustrated book, printed in Belgrade, gives a report on Serbian soldiers in Africa during WWI.

A fantastic large-format propaganda broadside, or ‘wall newspaper’, made to celebrate the exploits of German General Erwin Rommel, the ‘Desert Fox’, and his Afrikakorps, printed in Fascist Spain in July 1942, before the pivotal showdown at El Alamein had been decided. 

  The volumes of the book by a Serbian writter Stevan J. Jakovljević in highly decorative Art-Deco binding, are the second edition, published on the eve of WWII.

  A very rare magazine, published by young Christian German men in Aleppo, Syria, on the eve of WWI. Probably the first and only number.

  A fine example of the first scientific geological map of Bosnia & Herzegovina, published by Austrian Imperial and Royal Geological Institute, shortly after Austria-Hungary conquered the region from the Ottomans.  

  A Polish political broadside showcasing the Italian occupation of the Ethiopian Empire, as a warning to the upcoming situation. 

  A highly attractive double-sided tourist map of Jaipur, Rajashathan - the ‘enlightened’ city of Northern India, with verso maps of Udaipur and Chittorgarh.  

  An excellent little treatise on the appearance of the Solar Eclipse of July 28, 1851 over the Austrian Habsburg Empire, illustrated with a custom map - extremely rare – 1 of only 2 known examples.

  A unique manuscript map by one of the most important Venetian map-makers of the early 19th century Bernardo Combatti, shows the Arsenal, as rebuilt by Napoleon around 1810, to the form known today. The Arsenal today hosts the Venetian Biennale.
